Levitating Dog House

I was about eight when this happened, so it would have been around 2000 or 2001 in southeast Kansas. My dad and I lived in a doublewide trailer in the country, so our house was surrounded by woods. I had a German shepard-husky mix that was chained up outside behind our house. My dad decided to shoot off some fireworks, and knowing they scared my dog, I went and sat in her dog house with her. After about five minutes, I heard my dad go inside.

So after waiting a minute or two more to make sure my dog had calmed down, I tried to push my dog out so I could go inside, but she would not budge. Then the back of the doghouse, where I was sitting, lifted into the air! This doghouse was heavy. My dad had lined the bottom with bricks to keep it from moving, plus a medium-sized dog and an eight-year-old, so it had to be something strong. It lifted up until the entrance was almost touching the ground.

Thinking it was my dad at first, I again tried to push my dog out, but again she would not move. I noticed how scared she was. She had her ears back and was shaking. Her fear made me scared, so I stopped pushing and sat there. About a minute passed until it slammed back down to the ground. Hard. My dog shot out the second it landed and so did I. I looked back as I was running and saw nothing. I ran right inside where my dad was sitting on the couch watching TV. I asked him if he had lifted the doghouse up and he said no.

Knowing how much my dad liked to play tricks, I kept bothering him until he got mad and told me to quit asking him about it. Then I thought about it, and there is absolutely no way he could have run inside and sat on the couch without me seeing him. I dont know what it was, but I wish wish wish I would have looked to see what it was.
