Sister's Impossible Separation

I was with my sister, her husband, my husband, and our dog Molly at an old historic hotel in Virginia City, Nevada, November of 2012. We had adjacent rooms. The men were next door and my sister and I were talking in my room.

I was on the subject of orbs since the bar our band played at that night had a bunch of pictures of them on the walls. I said to my sister, "I wonder if I could catch some orbs on my camera." And I started snapping a few. I think I turned off the lights.

It couldn't have been more than a second when I was in mid conversation and realized my sister was not with me. Confused, I went next door and tried to go in, thinking she must have slipped out on me and joined the guys, but their door was locked and nobody was in the room.

"Guys?" I said, very baffled now for there was no possible way they could have gotten far. I ran down the steep narrow stairs, Molly at my heels, and went into the wooden planked sidewalks. Looking down the walk I was aghast to see my husband half a block down coming my way. A block further behind him was my brother-in-law and, most shocking of all, two blocks behind him was my sister!

I demanded to know where they went so fast and what happened to sis and my man said, "What? She's not with you?" He was just as incredulous as I was. When my brother-in-law reached us he could not explain the separation either. How my sister could be furthest away was seemingly impossible.

When she reached us, she was cryptic about what had happened, hinting to a door in the back of the hotel that she went through, but not clear on the details. I just could not explain how we got separated or so far from one another in such a short time. None of us could and still cannot.
