On this day the Moon finishes it's trip through Sagittarius and by nightfall it will be hitting the cusp of Capricorn. We are at the moment in a pattern of one easier day followed by one more difficult one, simply because most of the outer planets are in the latter degrees of the signs they are travelling through, except for Neptune. This is one of those more difficult days I am talking about.

The Moon remains in the sign of Sagittarius today, lifting our moods and giving us all an optimistic outlook. There is a sense of unreality about most of this day though with the Moon making a stressful angle to Neptune. We can deceive, but also be deceived and there is a distinct chance that we may get taken advantage of in some manner. The sense of wanting to escape the more stressful areas of our lives will be strong. 

During this Sunday, the Moon spends the first half of the day in Scorpio before changing signs into free and easy Sagittarius. During the morning, it forms an easy tine to Chiron the planet of healing almost instantaneously followed by more difficult aspect to Uranus, and I suspect we can help ourselves and others get through difficult times through kindness and innovative approaches to things. You may have to go out of your comfort zone a little, but it will be well worth it. 

We are into moving into a much quieter phase of planetary activity now and we wake to find the Moon moving still in the Sign of Scorpio forming a lovely water trine with Neptune, so we will be looking for a restful and easy start to our weekend. Breakfast in bed with the one you love will sound like a wonderful idea. 

Brigit is a celtic triple-goddess, which means that she represents three aspects of woman: the young virgin, the nurturing and loving mother, and the crone/sage/wise woman. Brigit is a fiery goddess who tirelessly protects those who call upon her, and she’s a feminine counterpart to Archangel Michael’s warrior energy. Brigit’s temple is in Kildare, Ireland. She’s celebrated worldwide on February 1, the ancient sacred day called “Imbolc”, which marks the beginning of springtime and increasing daylight.

The name ‘Britain’ is a derivation of Brigit’s name. Britain was named for an ancient Celtic tribe, the Brigantes, who worshipped Brigit and were the largest Celtic tribe to occupy the British Isles in pre-Roman times. The tribe originally came from the area that is now Bregenz in Austria near Lake Constance. The word ‘brigand’ comes from this tribe of fierce warriors.

Her worship probably spread from the Continent, leaving place names behind, such as Brittany in France. Brigit place names are found in Brechin, Scotland, the river Brent in England, the river Braint in Wales, Bridewell in Ireland. Even London has a Bridewell.

The symbol of Britain – the Goddess Brigantia or Britannia, (still found on their fifty-cent coin) is Brigid in her aspect as Goddess of Sovereignty or Guardian of the Land
